Para estudiar la v\u00eda de sintesis del ar en los cefalocordados decidimos determinar el contenido de retinoides en el anfioxo, tanto en adultos como en huevos, y comparar los efectos que provocaban tratamientos con retinol y con ar durante el desarrollo embrionario. los resultados demostraron la presencia de retinol,retinal y aren los animales adultos a unas concentraciones equivalentes a las descritas en vertebrados. adem\u00e1s, el an\u00e1lisis del contenidode retinoidesen las g\u00f3nadas en diferentesestadios de maduraci\u00f3nsuger\u00eda una progresivatransformaci\u00f3ndel retinola retinal,el cual quedar\u00eda como el \u00fanico retinoide almacenado en el huevo. Por otra parte, los tratamientos con retinoly arprovocaron malformaciones similares en los embriones de anfioxo.Todos estos resultados apuntaban que los anfioxos tendr\u00edan la capacidad de oxidar el retinol para producirary por tanto, las actividades enzim\u00e1ticas necesarias.  la regulaci\u00f3n de los niveles fisiol\u00f3gicosdel arse consigue mediante los enzimas encargados de su producci\u00f3n, a partir de retinol,y de su eliminaci\u00f3na formasbiol\u00f3gicamenteinactivas.En el procesode producci\u00f3n,el retinoles oxidadodos vecestransform\u00e1ndoseprimeroa retinal,y despu\u00e9s a ar.En los vertebrados,aunque se han descritom\u00faltiplesenzimasque pertenecena dos familiasdiferentes-las mdr-adhy las sdrrdh- que puedencatalizarla oxidaci\u00f3ndel retinola
