El estudio se ha aplicado a la isoenzima comercial con mayor aplicabilidad, la isoenzima c  de peroxidasa de r\u00e1bano (hrpc). El nuevo m\u00e9todo cronom\u00e9trico de medida permite superar la inestabilidad de los productos de la reacci\u00f3n enzim\u00e1tica de peroxidasa. Ello ha conducido a la caracterizaci\u00f3n cin\u00e9tica de compuesto ii, frente a un amplio conjunto de sustratos reductores. Se ha descrito un mecanismo cin\u00e9tico ping-pong con etapas de enlace y transformaci\u00f3n, demostrando la formaci\u00f3n de complejos enzima-sustrato en las tres fases del mecanismo de reacci\u00f3n. La especificidad de sustrato ha sido caracterizada determinando las constantes cin\u00e9ticas correspondientes, sin y con saturaci\u00f3n hiperb\u00f3lica, estableciendo relaciones estructura-actividad (sar) entre las mismas y descriptores electr\u00f3nicos de los sustratos reductores.  Se ha identificado mediante el estudio del efecto isot\u00f3pico y  su ajuste a la ecuaci\u00f3n de marcus, que la etapa limitante del mecanismo de reacci\u00f3n es la trasnterencia electr\u00f3nica del sustrato a la especie enzim\u00e1tica intermedia compuesto ii. Peroxidasa muestra estereoespecificidad, con mayor afinidad y rapidez de cat\u00e1lisis hacia los estereois\u00f3meros l de los sustratos reductores, fenoles y
