Este modelo exige la elaboracion de dos modelos interdependientes. El primero de ellos permitira describir el estado de las corrientes del estuario (modelo hidrodinamico) y proporcionara la evolucion del campo de velocidades y nivel de elevacion del mar. Estos resultados son datos necesarios para la aplicacion del segundo modelo (modelo de dispersion), con el que se determinaran las trayectorias y concentracion de las particulas polucionantes. El modelo se basa en la solucion de las ecuaciones de aguas poco profundas y ecuacion de dispersion con inclusion de procesos de transporte, dispersion y reaccion. La malla se genera automaticamente y se optimiza el ancho de banda. Las diferentes experimentaciones numericas han permitido comprobar la eficacia del modelo.
