Para ello, se han abordado dos aspectos cient\u00edficos: (i) la caracterizaci\u00f3n morfofuncional del test\u00edculo y de distintos par\u00e1metros s\u00e9ricos a lo largo del ciclo reproductor de los machos de dorada; (ii) el papel de los granulocitos acid\u00f3filos en el sistema inmunitario y en el seno del test\u00edculo.  en una primera etapa se obtuvieron anticuerpos monoclonales espec\u00edficos de tres poblaciones celulares de la g\u00f3nada de dorada, c\u00e9lulas de la t\u00fanica albug\u00ednea, del epitelio ov\u00e1rico y una subpoblaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas de sertoli. a continuaci\u00f3n, se abord\u00f3 el estudio del ciclo reproductor de los machos de dorada desarroll\u00e1ndose un modelo en el que se han incluido todos los cambios observados. As\u00ed, se puso de manifiesto que el tama\u00f1o y el peso del test\u00edculo, los tipos celulares que lo constituyen, la tasa de proliferaci\u00f3n y apoptosis celular, la expresi\u00f3n de algunos genes relacionados con la regulaci\u00f3n hormonal, los niveles s\u00e9ricos de hormonas y de metabolitos var\u00edan a lo largo del ciclo reproductor de los machos de dorada y que dichos cambios est\u00e1n relacionados entre s\u00ed. Cabe destacar la infiltraci\u00f3n masiva de granulocitos acid\u00f3filos y macr\u00f3fagos observada durante la etapa de post-puesta, que junto con un aumento en la proliferaci\u00f3n y la apoptosis celular y la fagocitosis de las c\u00e9lulas involutivas y los espermatozoides remanentes del ciclo anterior, favorecen la reorganizaci\u00f3n del tejido testicular.  en una segunda etapa se estableci\u00f3 un m\u00e9todo de disociaci\u00f3n testicular que permitiera obtener suspensiones celulares testiculares viables. Estas suspensiones fueron utilizadas para cuantificar y estudiar las funciones de los granulocitos acid\u00f3filos testiculares.
