Los procesos end\u00f3genos, la tect\u00f3nica, la circulaci\u00f3n, el eustatismo, los procesos sedimentarios y la actividad biol\u00f3gica han determinado el modelado actual de este margen.     los datos y el fondo documental utilizados han sido obtenidos mediante una amplia variedad de instrumentos, t\u00e9cnicas y metodolog\u00edas, tanto directas como indirectas, que abarcan la toma de muestras mediante dragas hasta diversos sistemas s\u00edsmicos y de batimetr\u00eda de multihaz, y veh\u00edculos operados por control remoto (rov).     la presente tesis, elaborada bajo la modalidad de recopilaci\u00f3n de art\u00edculos, cuatro en total, publicados en revistas referenciadas en el \u00abscience citation index\u00bb, consta de una introducci\u00f3n general, (cap.1) en al que se indican los objetivos y se describe el marco geogr\u00e1fico y geol\u00f3gico del margen de las islas baleares, en el promontorio balear. En el cap. 2 se explica la procedencia de los datos, la metodolog\u00eda utilizada para su obtenci\u00f3n y posterior interpretaci\u00f3n.     la estructura y geodin\u00e1mica de la parte sumergida del promotorio balear se abordan en el cap. 3, con especial \u00e9nfasis en el escarpe de meili baudot, un elemento estructural mayor.     la geomorfolog\u00eda general del \u00e1rea estudiada y los procesos sedimentarios que la afecta se describen en el cap. 4. El siguiente cap\u00edtulo, el 5, est\u00e1 centrado en las relaciones entre el recubrimiento sedimentario, la tect\u00f3nica pelicular y la morfolog\u00eda del lecho marino en el canal de mallorca y la cubeta de formentera. Este estilo tect\u00f3nico pelicular o \u00abthin-slinned\u00bb estar\u00eda condicionado por los niveles pl\u00e1sticos subyacentes del mio-pliocen, ac\u00fasticamente transparentes y semitransparentes.     por su parte, el cap.6 ilustra las consecuencias de los escapes de fluidos en el canal de ibiza y sus inmediaciones, donde abundan las estruc<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
