En presencia de una base, ambas expecies [{rux(u-x)(co)(p^p)}2] y trans, cis,cis-[rux2(cnr)2(dppf)], son precursores de catalizador eficientes en reacciones de transferencia de hidr\u00f3geno (th) a cetonas. El derivado trans,cis,cis-[rucl2(cn-2,6-c6h3me2)2(dppf)] reacciona con naoet dando lugar a la formaci\u00f3n de los complejos mono- y dihidruro cis,cis-[ruhcl(cn-2,6-c6h3me2)2(dppf)] y cis,cis,cis-[ruh2(cn-2,6-c6h3me2)2(dppf)], respectivamente.  estas especies hidruro son activas en procesos de th a cetonas en ausencia de bases. La abstracci\u00f3n del ligando haluro en los complejos monocarbonilo [rux(n3-2-c3h4r)(co)(p^p)], por tratamiento con una sal de plata, conduce a los derviados de 16 electrones [ru(n3 -2-c3h4r)(co)(p^p)][sbf6]. El complejo [ru(n3 -2c3h4me)(co)(dppf)][sbf6] es un precursor de catalizador eficiente en reacciones de sustituci\u00f3n proparg\u00edlica, as\u00ed como en la isomerizaci\u00f3n de alcoholes proparg\u00edlicos en compuestos carbon\u00edlicos alfa,beta-insaturados. en presencia de un halogenuro de hidr\u00f3geno, el complejo bis(alilo) [ru(n3-2-c3h4me)2(dppf)] reacciona con alcoholes proparg\u00edlicos formando los derivados alquenil-carbino fac-[rux3{=cc(h)=cr2}(dppf)] (x=cl,br; r=ph, ipr, cr2 = c13h8). Estos carbinos reaccionan con una sal de plata generando las especies alenilideno dinucleares [{rux(u-x)(=c=c=cr2)(dppf)}2] (x=cl,br; r=ph, cr2=c13h8).
