La endoglina regula la angiog\u00e9nesis fetal y tumoral pero no se ha estudiado su implicaci\u00f3n en la angiog\u00e9nesis fisiol\u00f3gica del individuo adulto. Nosotros estudiamos la angiog\u00e9nesis en ratones haploinsuficientes de endoglina (eng+\/-) y en sus controles (eng+\/+) utilizando un modelo de isquemia\/reperfusi\u00f3n en la pata trasera. Nuestros resultados demuestran un retraso en la angiog\u00e9nesis de los ratones eng+\/-, asociado con una expresi\u00f3n reducida de la sintasa de oxido n\u00edtrico dependiente de endotelio  (enos). Tambi\u00e9n hemos generado cultivos primarios de c\u00e9lulas endoteliales provenientes de animales eng+\/- y eng+\/+. Encontramos una expresi\u00f3n reducida de enos y del factor de crecimiento vascular endotelial (vegf), una disminuci\u00f3n de las tasas de proliferaci\u00f3n y migraci\u00f3n y un incremento en la acumulaci\u00f3n de matriz extracelular en los cultivos eng+\/- respecto a los eng+\/+. Seg\u00fan nuestros resultados, la reducci\u00f3n de los niveles de endoglina produce un retraso en la angiog\u00e9nesis mediado al menos en parte por la disminuci\u00f3n en la producci\u00f3n de \u00f3xido n\u00edtrico. Adem\u00e1s estudiamos la reparaci\u00f3n de heridas cut\u00e1neas en animales eng+\/- y eng+\/+. Encontramos un retraso en la cicatrizaci\u00f3n de los animales haploinsuficientes que desaparece con la inhibici\u00f3n de la nos. Hemos generado tambi\u00e9n cultivos primarios de fibroblastos de piel de ratones eng+\/- y eng+\/-. Encontramos un aumento en la expresi\u00f3n de enos as\u00ed como en las tasas de proliferaci\u00f3n y migraci\u00f3n en los fibroblastos eng+\/- respecto a los eng+\/+. Sin embargo no encontramos diferencias en la producci\u00f3n de matriz extracelular entre unos y otros fibroblastos. Seg\u00fan nuestros resultados, la reducci\u00f3n en los niveles de endoglina produce un retraso en la cicatrizaci\u00f3n de heridas que pued<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
