El prop\u00f3sito de este estudio fu\u00e9 analizar el posible papel de estas variaciones en los genes de citoquinas en el desarrollo de vrp.  materiales m\u00e9todo y pacientes: se analizaron polimorfismos funcionales de tnf-alfa (318 g\/a), tgf-beta (codon 10 c\/t y codon 25 g\/c), il-6 (-174 g\/c), il-10 (-1082 g\/a, -819 c\/t, -592 c\/a), ifn-gamma (+874 a\/t) en dos grupos de pacientes con desprendimiento de retina (dr): 31 pacientes que se complicaron con vrp, y 27pacientes con dr no complicado. Seg\u00fan el polimorfismo los pacientes se clasificaron en productores altos, bajos o intermedios. los resultados se compararon con un grupo control compuesto por 46 muestras sangu\u00edneas procedentes de donantes de sangre sanos.  resultados: se encontr\u00f3 una mayor frecuencia de hiperproductores de tgf-beta entre los pacientes que se complicaron con vrp. La distribuci\u00f3n de genotipos del codon 10 del tgf-beta fu\u00e9 distinta entre los pacientes con vrp y los pacientes sin vrp y en el cod\u00f3n 25 entre los pacientes con vrp y los controles. se encortr\u00f3 una mayor frecuencia del alelo t en el codon 10 entre  los pacientes con vrp. No se encontraron diferencias significativas en el resto de los polimorfismos estudiados  conclusion: se ha detectado una asociaci\u00f3n entre el perfil gen\u00e9tico del tgf-beta y el desarrollo de vrp.
