Como productos finales se obtienen, respectivamente, 1,2-diaminas vecinales y aminas secundarias, compuestos nitrogenados que se destacan por sus numerosas aplicaciones a nivel biol\u00f3gico, medicinal o sint\u00e9tico.  de esta forma, la primera parte del trabajo se centra en la s\u00edntesis estereoselectiva de 1,2-diaminas vecinales mediante reacci\u00f3n de fotoacoplamiento de iminas en presencia de metales, cuyo estudio ha permitido desarrollar una nueva metodolog\u00eda \u00abone-pot\u00bb para la preparaci\u00f3n y separaci\u00f3n de 1,2-diaminas a escala de gramo. A continuaci\u00f3n, se han abordado los procesos de fotorreducci\u00f3n de iminas a aminas secundarias, que como ya hemos dicho, forman parte del esqueleto de numerosas mol\u00e9culas bioactivas. En este sentido, la combinaci\u00f3n de luz y un disolvente alcoh\u00f3lico como agente reductor se propone como una alternativa sint\u00e9tica para obtener estos compuestos m\u00e1s repetuosa con el medio ambiente que los m\u00e9todos tradicionales de reducci\u00f3n de iminas. finalmente, nuestro inter\u00e9s en las reacciones de fotoacoplamiento y fotorreducci\u00f3n no se ha limitado \u00fanicamente a describir su reactividad sino que, adem\u00e1s, se ha profundizado en su estudio mecan\u00edstico, lo que ha permitido elaborar una propuesta mecan\u00edstica \u00fanica para ambos
