doctoral es la obtenci\u00f3n del tensor momento para terremotos superficiales (h mayor 40km) a partir de rigistros s\u00edsmicos de banda ancha a distancias regionales (* mayor 400km).La resoluci\u00f3n del problema directo se ha dividido en dos etapas: generaci\u00f3n delas funciones de green y su convoluci\u00f3n conlas componentes del tensor momento s\u00edsmico.La inversi\u00f3n del tensor momento sismico se lleva a cabo mediante el ajuste de los espectros de amplitudes , a partir de los registros relativos a las ondas internas.La aplicaci\u00f3n del m\u00e9todo en casos te\u00f3ricos permite observar las caracter\u00edstica de las funciones de green y de los desplazamientos te\u00f3ricos, al variasr de algunos par\u00e1metros delmodelo, y estudiar la estabilidad de la inversi\u00f3n al introducir errores en el modelo utilizado (estratificaci\u00f3n del modelo de tierra , profundidad del foco y longitud de la funci\u00f3n temporal).La comparaci\u00f3n de la inversi\u00f3n en dominio temporal y de frecuencias, muestra la mayro estabilidad se la segunda t\u00e9cnica.Posteriormente se aplica el m\u00e9todo desarrollado a 4 terremotos de espa\u00f1a, con caracter\u00edsticas diferentes ,utilizando registros de estaciones sismicas de banda ancha de espa\u00f1a en cada estudio se determina el mecanismo focal para diferentes profundidades focales como suma de un mecanismo de doble par y una componente de dipolo vectorial linear compensado, obteni\u00e9ndose conjuntamente sea el tensor momento sismico qu la profundida de la fuente.Los resultados son comparados con soluciones obtenidas con otros m\u00e9todos de inversi\u00f3n y con las polaridades observadas.La aplicaci\u00f3n a terremotos observados permite observar e interpretgar la determinaci\u00f3n de soluciones ambiguas, y relacionarla con imprecisiones en la definici\u00f3n de los modelos de tierra.El m\u00e9todo desarrollado se complementa con la descripci\u00f3n de una
