Este torrente de informaci\u00f3n hace necesario, casi inevitable, automatizar el an\u00e1lisis integrado de los nuevos datos experimentales disponibles.  la integraci\u00f3n de informaci\u00f3n biol\u00f3gica tiene diversas caras y, por tanto, los diferentes enfoques y soluciones existentes se revisan como una introducci\u00f3n a la materia. La segunda parte de la tesis presenta los pasos dados para solventar la carencia de infraestructuras para la gesti\u00f3n y almacenamiento de datos estructurales obtenidos mediante microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica tridimensional, articulados alrededor de dos proyectos cient\u00edficos de \u00e1mbito internacional: una primera conceptualizaci\u00f3n en la base de datos biolmage (integrando informaci\u00f3n de distintas t\u00e9cnicas microsc\u00f3picas) y la creaci\u00f3n de emd (electron microscopy database) en el european bionformatics institute (integrando informaci\u00f3n de estructuras macromoleculares).  finalmente se presenta el trabajo realizado (en colaboraci\u00f3n con el san diego supercomputer center) para proporcionar herramientas que respondan a las necesidades de an\u00e1lisis de un laboratorio experimental y\/o computacional. los procesos de an\u00e1lisis se modelan mediante flujos de trabajo (workflows), que intercalan accesos a fuentes de informaci\u00f3n (bases de datos estructuradas, ficheros locales, sitios web) y ejecuci\u00f3n de algoritmos y\/o aplicaciones.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
