Actualmente, en muchas ciudades del mundo, la contaminaci\u00f3n atmosf\u00e9rica se est\u00e1 convirtiendo en una problema cr\u00f3nico que afecta a nuestra salud,  a los edificios, o9s monumentos y a nuestra vegetaci\u00f3n.  es por ello que el principal objetivo de este trabajo ha sido el de caracterizar las part\u00edculas en suspensi\u00f3n pst (part\u00edculas en suspensi\u00f3n totales), pm10 (inferiores a 10 um) y pm2.5 (inferiores a 2,5 um) y las part\u00edculas sedimentables de la atm\u00f3sfera de oviedo y gij\u00f3n  y realizar una evaluaci\u00f3n ambiental.  para la recogida de muestra se utilizaron captadores de alto y medio volumen de las estaciones autom\u00e1ticas del principado de asturias, y de la unidad m\u00f3vil del ministerio de medio ambiente respectivamente.  para la caracterizaci\u00f3n  del aerosol atmosf\u00e9rico de las ciudades consideradas en esta memoria se han utilizado las siguienes t\u00e9cnicas: difracci\u00f3n de rayos x (drx), con la que se identificaron las fases cristalinas del material particulado. Microscop\u00eda electr\u00f3nica de barrido (sem) con analizador de elementos edx, con la que se identificaron otras part\u00edculas no identificadas con drx,  se corrobor\u00f3 la presencia de las part\u00edculas identificadas anteriormente y se obtuvieron im\u00e1genes de la mismas. Microsonda electr\u00f3nica (me) con la que se analizaron part\u00edculas sedimentables corroborando la presencia de algunas ya identificadas e identificando otras nuevas. Con la t\u00e9cnica de icp-ms se analizaron los elementos presentes en las pm10 de la atm\u00f3sfera de oviedo y de gij\u00f3n.  la evaluaci\u00f3n ambiental se realiz\u00f3 mediante an\u00e1lisis de
