Estas esperanzas se basan en su particular mecanismo de acci\u00f3n que los hace menos propensos a dar lugar a cepas resistentes. en esta tesis se han llevado a cabo estudios de relaciones de estructura actividad sobre dos p\u00e9ptidos antimicrobianos de origen vegetal ricos en ciste\u00edna: la tionina de pyrularia pubera (ppth) y la heveina como miembros representativos de los p\u00e9ptidos activos contra membranas y los que interaccionan con quitina respectivamente.  las tioninas son las primeras familias de p\u00e9ptidos antimicrobianos para los que se describi\u00f3 actividad in vitro contra pat\u00f3genos y se postul\u00f3 que jugaban un papel en el sistema de defensa de las plantas. En este trabajo se han desarrollado estrategias sint\u00e9ticas basadas en las s\u00edntesis de p\u00e9ptidos en fase s\u00f3lida y el plegamiento oxidativo para obtener con buenos rendimientos ppth, un p\u00e9ptido de 47 amino \u00e1cidos y 4 puentes disulfuro. Tambi\u00e9n se ha desarrollado un m\u00e9todo para la caracterizaci\u00f3n de la conectividad entre las cys en esta familia de p\u00e9ptidos basado en reducciones parciales y cianilaciones. los estudios de estructura actividad han permitido definir el motivo estructural de la doble h\u00e9lice antiparalela central de ppth como el responsable de su actividad.
