Este estudio muestra que la distribuci\u00f3n de los dos tipos de polimononucle\u00f3tidos no se ajusta a lo esperado por azar en regiones no codificantes (intrones-utr y adn interg\u00e9nico), mientras que s\u00ed lo hace en exones. Este hecho se explica por las restricciones selectivas que limitan la expansi\u00f3n y contracci\u00f3n de las repeticiones situadas en regiones codificantes. La distribuci\u00f3n de las clases de tama\u00f1o del t\u00e1ndem se ajusta a una exponencial decreciente, a medida que aumenta el n\u00famero de repeticiones. Este hecho permite descartar la existencia de un tama\u00f1o umbral para el patinazo de replicaci\u00f3n, concepto muy extendido en los modelos de mutaci\u00f3n, y apoya el comportamiento probabil\u00edstico del mismo. La densidad de repeticiones poli-(alt) no est\u00e1 correlacionada con la cantidad de adn de las especies estudiadas y podr\u00eda estar m\u00e1s relacionada con la tasa de mutaci\u00f3n de cada genoma y con su contenido a\/t. El conocimiento de la distribuci\u00f3n de microsat\u00e9lites de motivos superiores a 1 pb en eucariotas, es fundamental para clarificar la abundancia diferencial de microsat\u00e9lites bajo una perspectiva evolutiva. Utilizando datos de 3.165 secuencias de adn de 326 especies de bivalvos, se han estudiado los patrones de distribuci\u00f3n de microsat\u00e9lites en distintas regiones gen\u00f3micas.  algunos motivos microsat\u00e9lites de bivalvos muestran las densidades gen\u00f3micas m\u00e1s bajas observadas en eucariotas, lo cual podr\u00eda estar relacionado con el exceso de polimononucle\u00f3tidos observado en algunas especies. Se enuncia la paradoja de los microsat\u00e9lites seg\u00fan la cual, especies cercanas con un tama\u00f1o del genoma similar, muestran diferencias notables de riqueza en microsat\u00e9lites.
