Diferentes intereses industriales, energ\u00e9ticos y ambientales han motivado que el an\u00e1lisis de las posibilidades de aprovechamiento de la biomasa forestal est\u00e9 adquiriendo un creciente protagonismo. Bajo esta perspectiva, se hace necesario elaborar unos criterios de sostenibilidad para el manejo de los sistemas forestales, especialmente en lo relativo a especies de crecimiento r\u00e1pido caracterizadas por un aprovechamiento intensivo.  el principal objetivo fue determinar la caracterizaci\u00f3n nutricional de los sistemas forestales de las tres especies, y evaluar la incidencia de diferentes operaciones selv\u00edcolas y de aprovechamiento de las fracciones arb\u00f3reas sobre la estabilidad nutricional de los mismos. A partir del estudio de 16 masas y del muestreo destructivo de 231 \u00e1rboles se modeliz\u00f3 la biomasa arb\u00f3rea y se determin\u00f3 la distribuci\u00f3n nutricional de estos sistemas. La integraci\u00f3n de distintos modelos de crecimiento y evoluci\u00f3n de rodales forestales junto con la consideraci\u00f3n de modelos predictivos de biomasa permiti\u00f3 simular as\u00ed mismo la evoluci\u00f3n de la din\u00e1mica nutricional de las masas de eucalyptus globulus y pinus pinaster bajo diferentes reg\u00edmenes selv\u00edcolas y de aprovechamiento. A partir de dos ensayos de campo donde se plantearon diferentes alternativas de manejo de los restos arb\u00f3reos de corta, se evalu\u00f3 la influencia del aprovechamiento de las fracciones m\u00e1s gruesas de los restos de corta sobre distintos aspectos del balance hidrogeoqu\u00edmico y sobre procesos microbiol\u00f3gicos y condiciones ambientales del suelo.  los resultados obtenidos revelaron una importante acumulaci\u00f3n de nutrientes en las fracciones arb\u00f3reas de copa.
