Generacionalmente se le sit\u00faa entre los representantes regionales de la generaci\u00f3n del 25, pero el valor de su trayectoria no se limita al valor de estas aproximaciones puntuales al racionalismo. Influido por su formaci\u00f3n artesanal, con un temperamento impulsivo y extremadamente dotado para el dibujo, recibi\u00f3 su formaci\u00f3n como arquitecto en la escuela de barcelona bajo la docencia de luis dom\u00e9nech, del que fue alumno predilecto. A lo largo de una dilatada trayectoria de car\u00e1cter autodidacta, ispizua desarroll\u00f3 una arquitectura ecl\u00e9ctica altamente experimental, extremadamente vers\u00e1til en el empleo del lenguaje, dotada de un elevado tono monumental, y caracterizada por la parad\u00f3jica simultaneidad de la tendencia a la esencializaci\u00f3n formal y a la exuberancia, aspectos que se materializan elocuentemente en sus episodios art dec\u00f3, uno de sus mejores momentos. Arquitecto municipal de bilbao durante dos d\u00e9cadas, y solicitado por una carga de trabajo desbordante, proyect\u00f3 y construy\u00f3 numerosos edificios p\u00fablicos y edificaciones residenciales que constituyen piezas insustituibles de la fisonom\u00eda urbana del bilbao actual. El estudio de su trayectoria alumbra un recorrido repleto de pasajes sorprendentes, que hace de \u00e9l una suerte de icono de un momento concreto de la historia reciente de la cultura arquitect\u00f3nica espa\u00f1ola, y uno de los m\u00e1s claros exponentes del eclecticismo exhuberante de la arquitectura bilba\u00edna del siglo pasado entre 1920 y la d\u00e9cada de los
