Los objetivos a conseguir en el campo de las comunicaciones inal\u00e1mbricas, se ven limitados en numerosas ocasiones por motivos t\u00e9cnicos. A nivel de dise\u00f1o se han conseguido nuevas arquitecturas que ayudan a la reducci\u00f3n del consumo y del tama\u00f1o, pero debido a la baja calidad de los elementos pasivos integrados que exist\u00edan hasta ahora en el mercado, muchos de los bloques de estos dise\u00f1os no pod\u00edan ser integrados. Uno de estos bloques presente en la mayor\u00eda de los dise\u00f1os, es el bloque de filtrado. Las soluciones utilizadas hasta ahora consist\u00edan en implementar el filtro externamente, lo que provocaba un aumento del tama\u00f1o final, o integrar dichos bloques mediante circuitos activos, lo que se traduc\u00eda en un aumento del consumo. El objetivo principal del trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n desarrollado por nekane sainz es el dise\u00f1o de filtros pasivos integrados que puedan ser utilizados en bloques de aplicaciones de rf. Al finalizar la defensa p\u00fablica de la tesis, el tribunal felicit\u00f3 a la doctoranda y a sus directores de tesis y profesores de tecnun, los doctores joaqu\u00edn de n\u00f3 lengaran y erik hern\u00e1ndez jim\u00e9nez, por el trabajo de investigaci\u00f3n realizado, otorgando a nekane sainz la calificaci\u00f3n de sobresaliente cum laude. This piece of research seeks to contribute to the full integration of radiofrequency (rf) front-ends of mobile devices. This has been achieved by designing and fabricating passive filters so as to implement them in mobile devices. Up to now filters were not integrated i.E. They were either external to the devices, thereby increasing their size, or active, thus increasing consumption. Passive filters can be easily integrated, the size of devices beinq thus reduced and consumption decreased. In the course of this research the rollowing steps were taken: l. Fabrication technologies were examined 2. Since filters are made up of inductors and varactors, both of these were thoroughly studied 3. Simulation tools for inductors and varactors were researched, and one simulation tool for evaluating varactor resistance was developed 4. Filters were fabricated in 0.8im ams and 0.18im umc technologies 5. Filters were measured following a special method designed for the purpose 6.
