Se efect\u00faa un estudio detallado de las principales estrategias que permiten el control del convertidor en modo tensi\u00f3n. A continuaci\u00f3n, se presenta una nueva estrategia de control en modo sliding de corriente, principal aportaci\u00f3n de este trabajo. El estudio realizado en esta tesis doctoral de la situaci\u00f3n actual de los polos de potencia, demuestra como el principal problema en cuanto a la realizaci\u00f3n de este convertidor es lograr estrategias de conmutaci\u00f3n de corriente seguras. Con este objetivo, en esta tesis se realiza una plataforma de simulaci\u00f3n que permite estudiar las diferentes estrategias de conmutaci\u00f3n de corriente. Adem\u00e1s, se establecen modelos de simulaci\u00f3n del convertidor alterna-alterna directo en matriz de conversi\u00f3n. El dise\u00f1o de un prototipo de 5kw ha permitido validar los modelos de simulaci\u00f3n, los algoritmos de control y conmutaci\u00f3n de corriente presentados en esta tesis
