Para que c. Albicans pueda desarrollar su infectividad, es de gran importancia la capacidad de realizar la transici\u00f3n entre las diferentes morfolog\u00edas que constituyen su ciclo vital.  existe una familia de prote\u00ednas, denominadas septinas, muy importantes en la morfog\u00e9nesis f\u00fangica. En la levadura modelo s. Cerevisiae, se conocen siete septinas, de las que cinco forman un anillo en el cuello entre la c\u00e9lula madre y la hija.  con el objeto de comprobar si en c. Albicans las septinas est\u00e1n implicadas en morfog\u00e9nesis, se procedi\u00f3 a delecionar una de ellas, cacdc10, y se analiz\u00f3 el fenotipo de las cepas generadas. As\u00ed, se comprob\u00f3 que si bien ni la morfolog\u00eda celular ni la capacidad de filamentaci\u00f3n se afectaban en gran medida, s\u00ed se produc\u00eda una severa alteraci\u00f3n de la estructura de la pared celular y de los septos, as\u00ed como del proceso de separaci\u00f3n celular.  mediante ensayos en modelos animales, se comprob\u00f3 que cacdc10 es necesario para poder desarrollar la infecci\u00f3n, la correcta adhesi\u00f3n a c\u00e9lulas epiteliales y colonizar con eficiencia los diferentes tejidos.  comprobamos por medio de ensayos de localizaci\u00f3n de diferentes prote\u00ednas en cepas mutantes de c. Albicans, que existe una jerarqu\u00eda en el ensamblaje de los diferentes elementos de la estructura de septinas.  finalmente, y con objeto de profundizar en el an\u00e1lisis molecular de la estructura de septinas de c. Albicans, analizamos el estado de fosforilaci\u00f3n de diversas septinas. As\u00ed, pudimos comprobar que la septina cashs1 se encuentra fosforilada, y que dicha fosforilaci\u00f3n ocurre en el cuello. Adem\u00e1s, esta prote\u00edna sufre un incremento en cantidad y fosforilaci\u00f3n en la filamentaci\u00f3n, que son \u00fanicos entre las septinas.
