El objetivo fundamental de este trabajo ha sido el estudiar la epidemiolog\u00eda de las cepas resistentes de haemophilus durante el periodo 1988-93. Se estudiaron un total de 2357 cepas de haemophilus spp.. H. Influenzae fue la especie aislada con mas frecuencia, predominando los biotipos ii, i y iii. El serotipo mas frecuente de h. Influenzae fue el \u00abb\u00bb. El porcentaje de cepas beta-lactamasas positivas fue del 60,8% aumentando de forma progresiva y significativa durante el periodo de estudio (41% en 1988, 74,2% en 1993). No se encontro relacion entre la produccion de beta-lactamasa y la edad, sexo y procedencia ambulatoria u hospitalaria. Las cepas resistentes al cloramfenicol fueron del 18,5%, y de ellas el 96,6% por produccion de cat. La resistencia al cloramfenicol estuvo ligada significativamente a la produccion de beta-lactamasa. No se encontraron cepas resistentes a cefotaxima, cefixima, aztreonam, ciprofloxacino, ofloxacino y rifampicina.
