En concreto, se han obtenido plantas transg\u00e9nicas de tomate p73 con distintos genes presuntamente relacionados con la tolerancia a la salinidad y\/o el estr\u00e9s h\u00eddrico: hal1, hal3, hal5, atnhx1 y tps (cedidos por el dr. Ram\u00f3n serrano ibmcp-Valencia), tas14 y tsw12 (cedidos por el dr. Pintor toro, irna, sevilla) y el gen asna (cedido por van der have). Nuestro prop\u00f3sito ha sido utilizar la transformaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica como una herramienta para el an\u00e1lisis funcional de genes candidatos. Para ello, a partir de los transformantes primarios (tg1) se han obtenido sus descendencias tg2 y, en una segunda fase, las descendencias tg3 con el fin de identificar las l\u00edneas homocigotas y acigotas para cada uno de los transgenes. De esta forma, se ha podido llevar a cabo un estudio exhaustivo sobre el efecto de cada gen, comparando la tolerancia de las l\u00edneas homocigotas con respecto a la de sus correspondientes l\u00edneas acigotas mediante ensayos a corto, medio y largo plazo. Asimismo, hemos combinado transgenes implicados en diferentes funciones para evaluar hasta qu\u00e9 punto se puede incrementar el grado de tolerancia mediante esta estrategia. La evaluaci\u00f3n de estos materiales transg\u00e9nicos ha indicado que la expresi\u00f3n individual o conjunta de algunos genes conduce a un aumento de la tolerancia al estr\u00e9s salino y\/o
