En el mutante defectivo en recombinaci\u00f3n meu13?, Este checkpoint induce un retraso en la entrada en meiosis i, que es necesario para que la recombinaci\u00f3n se complete y, de esta forma, mantener la viabilidad de las esporas generadas. la inactivaci\u00f3n de elementos de la ruta de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n del checkpoint suprime dicho retraso y provoca una ca\u00edda de la viabilidad de las esporas. los experimentos realizados indican que la prote\u00edna espec\u00edfica de meiosis mek1 es una kinasa efectora del checkpoint de recombinaci\u00f3n. La prote\u00edna mek1 es estructuralmente similar a spcds1\/scrad53\/hschk2, por lo que se incluye dentro de esta familia de kinasas con dominios fha que intervienen en checkpoints. La sobreexpresi\u00f3n de mek1+ durante el crecimiento vegetativo bloquea el ciclo celular a trav\u00e9s de la fosfatasa cdc25. Cdc25 es sustrato de mek1 in vitro, y la sobreexpresi\u00f3n ect\u00f3pica de mek1+ induce la exclusi\u00f3n nuclear de cdc25. En meiosis, un mutante de cdc25 que carece de nueve sitios de fosforilaci\u00f3n es defectivo en el checkpoint de recombinaci\u00f3n, lo que indica que cdc25 es una de las dianas de este mecanismo de control.  la prote\u00edna con dominios brct rad4\/cut5 interviene como mediador\/adaptador en los checkpoints mit\u00f3ticos de s. Pombe. Durante la meiosis, la formaci\u00f3n de focos de rad4 en los cromosomas coincide con los procesos de apareamiento de cromosomas hom\u00f3logos y recombinaci\u00f3n, tal y como sucede con su hom\u00f3logo en mam\u00edferos, topbp1. Cuando se inactiva rad4, el checkpoint de recombinaci\u00f3n mei\u00f3tica es defectivo, lo que indica que rad4 interviene en este checkpoint mei\u00f3tico, en el que podr\u00eda ejercer de mediador
