Con la finalidad de conseguir dichos objetivos. Desarrollamos una nueva t\u00e9cnica de an\u00e1lisis de los cambios de metilaci\u00f3n. Que llamamos amplification of intermethylated sites (aims). A partir de esta t\u00e9cnica. Los resultados de esta tesis se dividen en dos grupos bien diferenciados. Un primer bloque de dos estudios globales (primer objetivo). Y un segundo bloque de an\u00e1lisis m\u00e1s espec\u00eddicos (segundo objetivo). En el primer estudio global analizamos la contribuci\u00f3n de las ganancias i las perdidas a lo largo del proceso tumoral. La principal conclusi\u00f3n de este trabajo fue la independencia entre estos cambios a nivel de caracter\u00edsticas tumorales (fisiol\u00f3gicas y gen\u00e9ticas). As\u00ed como de pron\u00f3stico y contribuci\u00f3n en la progresi\u00f3n tumoral. En el segundo estudio global. nos centramoso en las p\u00e9rdidas de metilaci\u00f3n gen\u00f3mica y su relaci\u00f3n con el da\u00f1o gen\u00f3mico y mal pron\u00f3stico. Referente a los estudios. En un primer trabajo hemos descrito elsilenciamiento epigen\u00e9tico del gen s\u00edntasa de protaciclinas (ptgis). Este silenciamiento se da en una elevada frecuencia en c\u00e1ncer colorectal y se encuentra significativamente asociado con el grado de aneupliidia del tumor. Finalmente, en el segundo estudio espec\u00edfico, describimos el silenciamiento epigen\u00e9tico de toda una banda citogen\u00e9tica (2q14.2).
