Sagrario <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Las gl\u00e1ndulas paratiroides constribuyen al funcionamiento correcto de numerosos \u00f3rganos y tipos celulares gracias al control que estas ejercen sobre el mantenimiento de la concentraci\u00f3n de calcio (ca2+) dentro de un rango fisiol\u00f3gico. la c\u00e9lula paratiro\u00eddea es capaz de detectar peque\u00f1os cambios en la concentraci\u00f3n de ca2+ extracelular , a los que responde modificando la secreci\u00f3n de hormona paratiroidea (pth). La capacidad de la c\u00e9lula paratiroidea para percibir cambios en la concentraci\u00f3n de ca2+ se debe a la expresi\u00f3n en su membrana de receptores de calcio (car). El car pertenece al a familia de receptores acoplados a prote\u00ednas g(gpcrs); su activaci\u00f3n por la uni\u00f3n a su ligando (ca2+) genera se\u00f1ales intracelulares que se traducen en la regulaci\u00f3n inversa de la secreci\u00f3n de pth y de la proliferaci\u00f3n celular, as\u00ed como en la regulaci\u00f3n de la expresi\u00f3n de algunos genes. Por tanto, el calcio act\u00faa como regulador de la funci\u00f3n paratiroidea, tanto a nivel de secreci\u00f3n de hormona, como a nivel de expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica; sin embargo los mecanismos intracelulares implicados en la respuesta celular al calico no se conocen con exactitud. la estimulaci\u00f3n del car, posiblemente a trav\u00e9s de un aumento de calcio intracelular (cai), activa a la fosfolipasa a2 (pla2) la cual sintetiza \u00e1cido araquid\u00f3nico (aa). Se sabe qu el aa act\u00faa como mediador en la inhibici\u00f3n de la secreci\u00f3n de hormona paratiroidea (pth) por calcio . Datos preliminares en nuestro laboratorio demuestran que el calcio extracelular regula al alza la expresi\u00f3n g\u00e9nica de de receptor de vitamina d (vdr) en c\u00e9lulas paratiroides. Puesto que el calcio activa la v\u00eda pla2-aa es posible que el aa regule la expresi\u00f3n  g\u00e9nica vdr, dado que en otras c\u00e9lulas este metabolito est\u00e1 relacionado con la expersi\u00f3n de algunos genes.
