En concreto, se han desarrollado y puesto a punto diversos sensores de fibra \u00f3ptica para la determinaci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea del grado de sal\u00ednidad y la temperatura del agua, aplicables a cualquier entorno y capaces de funcionar de forma aut\u00f3noma basados en efectos fisicos diferentes a los de los sensores comerciales. Los sensores fabricados, basados en fibras estrechadas por fus\u00ed\u00f3n y estiramiento (tapers), se dise\u00f1aron para explotar las diferentes cualidades de estas fibras estrechadas con objeto de, por una parte, caracterizar el comportamiento de los tapers en funci\u00f3n de dichas cualidades, y por otro lado, para comprobar el amplio abanico de posibilidades que ofrecen dichas fibras para su uso como sensores. Se ha caracterizado  el comportamiento de fibras estrechadas de cuello uniforme respecto a sus dos caracter\u00edsticas m\u00e1s importantes: la sensibilidad a cambios del \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n exterior y la fuerte dependencia con la geometr\u00eda del taper, mediante la elecci\u00f3n de transductores adecuados que realzan dichos efectos con el prop\u00f3sito de medir tanto la temperatura como variaciones en el \u00edndice de refracci\u00f3n. Se ha ensayado una primera propuesta de sensor de temperatura consistente en el dep\u00f3sito de un material termocr\u00f3m\u00edco, lofina, sobre  una fibra estrechada de cuello un\u00edforme ya que este material es h\u00eddr\u00f3fobo y cambia su absortancia con la temperatura. Se ha ensayado una segunda propuesta de sensor de temperatura, que aprovecha la gran sensibilidad a cambios en la curvatura de las fibras tapered, consistente en la fijaci\u00f3n de un taper de cuello uniforme en el interior de un cilindro capilar.
