Seg\u00fan la teor\u00eda econ\u00f3mica cl\u00e1sica, los mercados internet al por menor deber\u00edan presentar una mayor eficiencia de mercado, dado que para el consumidor suponen bajos costes de b\u00fasqueda de informaci\u00f3n relativa al precio y las caracter\u00edsticas del producto, y esto supone una aproximaci\u00f3n al modelo de competencia perfecta. mayor eficiencia de mercado deber\u00eda implicar la existencia de precios m\u00e1s bajos, menores diferencias entre el precio menor y mayor de un producto al considerar los distintos comercios, y una variabilidad de precios caracterizada por un mayor n\u00famero de cambios y una magnitud de cambio menor.  esta tesis constata, en el caso concreto del mercado minorista de venta de cds de m\u00fasica, si el canal internet presenta una mayor eficiencia de mercado que el convencional. La medici\u00f3n de eficiencia y la comparaci\u00f3n se basa en los indicadores: nivel, dispersi\u00f3n y variabilidad de precios. las hip\u00f3tesis de investigaci\u00f3n se formulan en base a dichos indicadores y en relaci\u00f3n a todos los discos, los de actualidad, y los intemporales. el an\u00e1lisis se realiza seg\u00fan precios en tienda y precios finales, siendo \u00e9stos \u00faltimos los precios en tienda m\u00e1s los costes de env\u00edo, en el caso de compras en internet, y los precios en tienda m\u00e1s los costes de adquisici\u00f3n (costes por desplazamiento, tiempo y emocionales), en el caso de las compras en el canal convencional. Se consideran dos escenarios de costes de env\u00edo, uno de urgencia y otro de normalidad.  el an\u00e1lisis emp\u00edrico se basa en los precios captados durante 6 semanas, en abril y mayo de 2004. Cada semana se capt\u00f3 el precio de 20 discos (10 de actualidad y 10 de intemporales) en 8 comercios del mercado internet y en otros 8 del convencional, obteni\u00e9ndose en total, 1603 precios.
