Los mecanismos de transmisi\u00f3n de este microorganismo no est\u00e1n totalmente determinados. Se ha detectado su presencia en heces, agua de bebida, leche y vegetales, aunque en muy pocos casos ha podido ser aislado. recientemente se ha sugerido, adem\u00e1s, que helicobacter pylori puede ser resistente a las concentraciones de cloro y ozono utilizadas para potabilizar el agua de distribuci\u00f3n.  por otra parte, estudios experimentales han demostrado que en condiciones de estr\u00e9s ambiental estos microorganismos pueden entrar en una fase viable pero no cultivable (vnc), en la que, a pesar de no poder ser recuperados, conservan distintas actividades metab\u00f3licas y expresan factores de virulencia. la inducci\u00f3n de este estado vnc, que se acompa\u00f1a de cambios morfol\u00f3gicos (paso a forma cocoide), ha sido propuesta como un probable mecanismo de supervivencia en el ambiente, que favorecer\u00eda su transmisi\u00f3n.  en este trabajo se ha estudiado la supervivencia de una cepa de h. Pylori perteneciente a nuestra colecci\u00f3n, en distintos modelos de microcosmos acu\u00e1ticos a diferentes temperaturas. Se ha comprobado que las c\u00e9lulas de h. Pylori mantenidas en tamp\u00f3n fosfato salino pbs a 11\u00c2\u00bac, son cultivables durante 12 d\u00edas, mientras que en agua no clorada, a la misma temperatura, permanecen cultivables hasta 5 d\u00edas. As\u00ed mismo, a temperaturas m\u00e1s bajas la cultivabilidad en pbs persiste durante m\u00e1s tiempo, y se detectan c\u00e9lulas cultivables hasta los 22 d\u00edas. Tambi\u00e9n se ha observado la existencia de formas helicoidales viables no cultivables tanto en agua superficial como en pbs.  al valorar la supervivencia de la cepa hbtc6 de h.
