La emergencia de cepas de s.Pneumoniae resistentes a antibi\u00f3ticos como la penicilina y otros beta-lact\u00e1micos, ha llevado a la utilizaci\u00f3n de nuevos agentes antimicrobianos como las fluoroquinolonas, entre las cuales se encuentran la ciprofloxacina. este trabajo pone de manifiesto el posible papel de otros estreptococos orales en la eventual transferencia de genes de resistencia a quinolonas en s.Pneumoniae.  por otra parte, describe los mecanismos implicados en la resistencia a ciprofloxacina en cepas cl\u00ednicas de s.Pneumoniae, haciendo especial incidencia en los mecanismos de reflujo. El trabajo muestra que la resistencia de la mayor\u00eda de cepas cl\u00ednicas se be principalmente a mutaciones en las principales dianas del antibi\u00f3tico de estudio. sin embargo, tambi\u00e9n demuestra la posible implicaci\u00f3n de un mecanismo de reflujo en la destacada resistencia a ciprofloxacina de dos de las cepas cl\u00ednicas de s.Pneumoniae. la inactivaci\u00f3n del gen pmra, gen que codifica para la \u00fanica prote\u00edna de reflujo descrita hasta el momento en s.Pneumoniae, parece se\u00f1alar la presencia de un mecanismo de reflujo independiente del pmra. El an\u00e1lisis comparativo de secuencias entre el genoma de r6 y distintas prote\u00ednas de reflujo ya descritas en otras bacterias gram positivas ponen de manifiesto la posible existencia de al menos otra bomba de reflujo en s.Pneumoniae. analizados los dos mecanismos principales de resistencias, se aplic\u00f3 una metodolog\u00eda basada en la t\u00e9cnica de microarrays, que mostr\u00f3 el potencial de esta herramienta en la determinaci\u00f3n de nuevos genes involucrados en la resistencia a fluoroquinolonas en s.Pneumoniae.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
