Mientras que en condiciones de aerobiosis y con glucosa como fuente de carbono k. Lactis posee un metabolismo fundamentalmente respirativo, s. Cervisiae lo tiene fermentativo en el mismo contexto. Estas diferencias metab\u00f3licas podr\u00edan ser el reflejo de una diferente regulaci\u00f3n transcripcional de aquellos genes relacionados con la respiraci\u00f3n en estos organismos tan pr\u00f3ximos evolutivamente. En la presente tesis se estudiaron una serie de genes que se consideran fundamentales en este aspecto. Schem1 y schem12 codifican respectivamente la delta-aminolevulinato sintasa y la uroprofirin\u00f3geno descarboxilasa que catalizan el primer y quinto paso de la ruta de bios\u00edntesis de hemo. Este grupo estructural de hemoprote\u00ednas como los citocromos, que participan en los procesos de respiraci\u00f3n. schap1 codifica un factor trascripcional activado por hemo que regula la expresi\u00f3n de genes relacionados con la respiraci\u00f3n, y adem\u00e1s activa la expresi\u00f3n de scrox1 que reprime genes hip\u00f3xicos en condiciones aer\u00f3bicas. scsrb10 codifica una quinasa que participa en procesos tanto de activaci\u00f3n como de represi\u00f3n trascripcional. En estos \u00faltimos se caracteriza por interaccionar con el complejo represor ssn6-tup1p tras ser reclutado hacia las regiones promotoras de los genes por diversos factores represores, entre los que se encuentra la prote\u00edna rox1p.  en este trabajo se han clonado los genes k1hem12, k1srb10 y k1hap1 demostrando para los dos primeros su funcionalidad mediante complementaci\u00f3n de mutaciones en genes hom\u00f3logos en s. Cerevisiae. K1hap1 no ha demostrado ser funcional en s.Cerevisiae al menos bajo control de su propio promotor.  la expresi\u00f3n k1hem12 ha resultado dependiente de cepa, adem\u00e1s de sugrir una
