Se analizaron 10 sistemas enzimaticos, que diferenciaron todas las especies de la coleccion. Tambien se emplearon rapds en especies con escasa variabilidad genetica. Se analizo la posible influencia de factores ambientales y fisiologicos y de patogenos sobre la expresion isoenzimatica. Los valores de la heterozigosis fueron muy heterogeneos. En citrus las limas y limoneros presentaron valores muy altos. En cuanto a la variabilidad, esta fue mayor en las especies silvestres de citrus, y c. Medica tambien presento valores altos. En cuanto a las relaciones geneticas, entre los metodos de analisis utilizados la distancia de la cuerda y el metodo de agrupacion \u00abneighbor-joining\u00bb proporcionaron los mejores resultados. El genero poncirus se situa lejos de citrus, mientras que microcitrus aparece muy cerca y aeglopsis se relaciona con c. Paradisi. Se confirma la existencia de tres grupos principales de especies en el genero citrus: el grupo de naranjos y mandarinos, el del cidro y la lima, y el del pummelo. En las especies de mandarino se pueden definir cuatro grupos, dos de ellos relacionados con c. Sinensis o c.
