La meiosis en mam\u00edferos presenta diferencias de g\u00e9nero, mientras que la masculina es continua y empieza en la vida del adulto, la femenina se inicia durante la vida fetal y se interrumpe antes del nacimiento. As\u00ed pues, el apareamiento y la sinpasis de los hom\u00f3logos en ovocitos humanos s\u00f3lo se puede estudiar en ovarios fetales. De este modo, la mayor\u00eda de lo que se sabe de la meiosis proviene de trabajos realizados en muestras masculinas. En este estudio, se han usado 33 muestras para realizar un an\u00e1lisis exhaustivo del apareamiento y sinapsis de los hom\u00f3logos en ovocitos humanos.  los resultados obtenidos han permitido por primera vez relacionar la progresi\u00f3n de la profase mei\u00f3tica a lo largo del desarrollo fetal en las mujeres. se demuestra que el apareamiento empieza durante el estadio de leptoteno, cuando los ovocitos presentan la morfolog\u00eda de bouquet.  Adem\u00e1s, se indica la implicaci\u00f3n de la din\u00e1mica telom\u00e9rica en la sinapsis de los hom\u00f3logos. los resultados sugieren que el apareamiento y sinapsis son procesos muy eficientes tanto en ovocitos euploides, como en ovocitos cultivados, como en ovocitos aneuploides, presentando tasas de error del orden del 0,13%. los resultados presentados tambi\u00e9n indican que la implicaci\u00f3n del proceso de apareamiento en el origen de las aneuploid\u00edas no es tan importante como otros factores.  el an\u00e1lisis de ovocitos euploides humanos ha revelado importantes diferencias respecto a la progresi\u00f3n de la meiosis entre hombres y mujeres que podr\u00edan ser responsables del alto origen materno de las aneuploid\u00edas en humanos. adem\u00e1s, se han encontrado diferencias importantes en la progresi\u00f3n mei\u00f3tica entre humanos y ratones que podr\u00edan sugerir la b\u00fasqueda de otro modelo animal para estudiar la meiosis en
