Iluminada <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Las galectinas constituyen una familia de prote\u00ednas extremadamente conservada a trav\u00e9s de la evoluci\u00f3n, que son capaces de reconocer composiciones espec\u00edficas de carbohidratos con la estructura can\u00f3nica (galbl-glcnac)n a  trav\u00e9s de un dominio de reconocimiento de carbohidratos (crd), altamente conservado desde los invertebrados inferiores a los mam\u00edferos.  en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os se han caracterizado estructuralmente diferentes galectinas. la galectina-l humana (hgal-l) y las galectinas de organismos inferiores como son las isoformas cgl-l y cgl-2 del hongo coprinus cinereus permanecen a\u00fan sin caracterizar a este nivel. Este trabajo se ha dirigido fundamentalmente a la determinaci\u00f3n de las estructuras tridimensionales de tres galectinas de este conjunto con el fin de identificar las diferencias en el plegamiento y la adaptaci\u00f3n evolutiva de los diversos elementos de la estructura secundaria que determinan la estructura cuaternaria. En el plegamiento general de hgal-l y cg-14, once hebras b adoptan el motivo topol\u00f3gico de tipo \u00abjelly-roll\u00bb, como consecuencia de una fuerte asociaci\u00f3n cara a cara entre dos hojas b con una disposici\u00f3n de s hebras (fl-fs) y 6 hebras (sl-s6) en conformaci\u00f3n antiparalela.  se ha demostrado que h-gall existe como d\u00edmero en disoluci\u00f3n mediante an\u00e1lisis de filtraci\u00f3n en gel y espectrometr\u00eda de masas. La estructura tridimensional muestra que la estabilizaci\u00f3n del d\u00edmero en hgal-l, se produce principalmente a  trav\u00e9s de un entramado de puentes de hidr\u00f3geno entre las hebras si (n terminal) y fl (c-terminal) de ambos mon\u00f3meros.
