En la presente tesis se estudiala distribuci\u00f3n de distintas t\u00f3xinas de b. Thuringiensis en  aislados de esta especie y se describi\u00f3 la interacci\u00f3n de estas con sitios de uni\u00f3n espec\u00edficos en ves\u00edculas de membranas de distintos insectos plaga.  el estudlo de la distribuci\u00f3nn de ~b-exotoxina tlpo i revel\u00f3 que este metabolito era producido por las cepas tipo de los serovares thuringiensis, tolworthi y darmstadiensis. Se encontr\u00f3 correlaci\u00f3n de la producci\u00f3n o ausencia de exotoxina en determinados serovares de b. Thuringiensis. En un estudio con aislados procedentes de bolivia, se encontr\u00f3 b. Thuringiensis en el 60% de las muestras procedentes de regiones productoras de patata en bolivia. los aislados mas t\u00f3xicos contra spodoptera exigua y phthorimaea operculella contenian cristales bipiramidales, una banda de 130 kda y genes de las familias cryl y cry2. Entre estos aislados se identific\u00f3 un gen cryl nuevo. la mayoria de los aislados procedentes de 4 colecciones establecidas a partir de habitats y tipos de muestras divers as contenian cristales bipiramidales. la presencia de cristales bipiramidales estaba relacionada con la amplificaci\u00f3n de genes cryla y cry2, mientras que la presencia de cristales redondeados estaba asocidada con la ausencia de estos genes. La frecuencia global de genes cryla y cry2 fue del 61.5% y 59.2%, respectivamente, y se observ\u00f3 una tendencia de estos genes a aparecer conjuntaniente. En una colecci\u00f3n de 507 cepas de b. Thuringiensis, la frecuencia de genes vip fue de110% para genes viply vip2, y 49% para genes vip3. La estrategia de pcr-rflp utilizada permiti6 identificar y clasificar estos genes vip en base a los diez patrones distintos encontrados.
