En la mayor\u00eda de los casos, sin embargo, la disponibilidad de informaci\u00f3n es insuficiente y desactualizada. Adicionalmente, la interpolaci\u00f3n de superficie obtenida a partir de estaciones de medici\u00f3n en superficie no permite la observaci\u00f3n de los aspectos microclim\u00e1ticos de la radiaci\u00f3n solar (zelenka et al., 1999). Por esto, se ha elegido un modelo estad\u00edstico e im\u00e1genes del sat\u00e9lite noaa-avhrr para la determinaci\u00f3n de mapas de radiaci\u00f3n solar para toda la pen\u00ednsula ib\u00e9rica. El m\u00e9todo estad\u00edstico basado en diabat\u00e9 et al. (1989) y flores (2002) asegura la exactitud del proceso y las im\u00e1genes noaa-avhrr una alta resoluci\u00f3n espacial del orden de 1 km2, lo cual es necesario dada la complejidad del \u00e1rea de estudio. El per\u00edodo de estudio es de 5 a\u00f1os (1998-2002), lo que permite estudiar la variaci\u00f3n interanual de la radiaci\u00f3n solar. El modelo estad\u00edstico fue calibrado con 21 estaciones de medici\u00f3n en superficie distribuidas en toda la superficie de espa\u00f1a. los datos de las estaciones de medici\u00f3n son acuciosamente filtrados con el prop\u00f3sito de eliminar todos los registros err\u00f3neos, aspecto crucial del m\u00e9todo. Las im\u00e1genes son calibradas y corregidas geom\u00e9tricamente, adem\u00e1s se les realiza un proceso de detecci\u00f3n de nubes con el fin de obtener el albedo superficial (laine et al., 1999). La evaluaci\u00f3n de los resultados, con datos de 7 estaciones de medici\u00f3n en superficie independientes, permite obtener un mbe de 3.8% y un rmse de 24.2% para los dato diarios y un mbe de 1.1% y un rmse de 15.9% para los datos horarios.
