Su influencia sobre las generaciones que le sucedieron es innegable y su presencia en la escena de la literatura \u00e1rabe actual es constante.     la tesis contiene una introducci\u00f3n, seis cap\u00edtulos y unos anexos, aparte de las conclusiones y la lista de bibliograf\u00eda. En la introducci\u00f3n se hace una comparaci\u00f3n entre la tradici\u00f3n y la modernidad. El primer cap\u00edtulo analiza las causas del uso de los elementos tradicionales en la poes\u00eda de al-sayyab. en el segundo cap\u00edtulo se comenta la vida del poeta, los episodios pol\u00edticos y las influencias culturales. Sobre este \u00faltimo se analiza la tradici\u00f3n \u00e1rabe y la influencia de la poes\u00eda occidental.  el tercer cap\u00edtulo habla de las etapas de la formaci\u00f3n del poeta que divide en tres: etapa del compromiso, la de tammuzismo y la del individualismo. el capitulo cuarto aborda la tradici\u00f3n y la modernidad en la poes\u00eda del al-sayyab. el quinto estudia la imagen en la poes\u00eda de al-sayyab y el sexto trata el tema de la tradicci\u00f3n y la modernidad en la lengua y en el ritmo.  los anexos incluyen un glosario de t\u00e9rminos, \u00edndices de mitos, leyendas, relatos populares y elementos religiosos en la obra de al-sayyab, las obras del poeta, \u00edndice de nombres propios e \u00edndice de lugares. y por el \u00faltimo la lista bibliogr\u00e1fica est\u00e1 organizada del siguiente modo: textos sagrados, obras de al-sayyab, fuente \u00e1rabes, fuentes en otros idiomas, diccionarios y enciclopedias y art\u00edculos y
