El desarrollo del centro de osificaci\u00f3n secundario presenta similitudes con la osificaci\u00f3n primaria de las di\u00e1fisis pero hay diferencias sustanciales entre ambos procesos. la formaci\u00f3n del centro de osificaci\u00f3n secundario comienza con el crecimiento invasivo de canales de cart\u00edlago a trav\u00e9s del cart\u00edlago hialino no calcificado de la ep\u00edfisis. Estos canales constituyen una v\u00eda para los vasos y las c\u00e9lulas precursoras osteog\u00e9nicas. El crecimiento centr\u00edpeto de los canales est\u00e1 relacionado con la expresi\u00f3n de mmp-9, mmp-13 y mmp-14, y con la presencia de c\u00e9lulas de la l\u00ednea de osteoclastos, pero no depende de vegf. El clodronato es un conocido inhibidor de osteoclastos. Los animales tratados con el bisfosfonato no muestran alteraciones en los patrones de la osificaci\u00f3n secundaria. Los efectos m\u00e1s evidentes son un retraso en el comienzo de la invasi\u00f3n y una acumulaci\u00f3n de trab\u00e9culas en la cavidad medular. La inhibici\u00f3n de la reabsorci\u00f3n no implica la muerte de osteoclastos ni la p\u00e9rdida de la expresi\u00f3n de mmps.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
