Esta caracterizaci\u00f3n se ha abordado, primeramente, a partir de la determinaci\u00f3n de los \u00edndices de calidad m\u00e1s utilizados en el campo de la geot\u00e9cnia, como son el rmr, el gso, el rqd y el sistema q. En total se han realizado 175 caracterizaciones de macizos rocosos a lo largo de toda la estructura del arco vasco. Paralelamente, se han tomado muestras de matriz rocosa para su posterior ensayo en laboratorio; se han realizado un total de 92 determinaciones de resistencia a comprensi\u00f3n simple, 34 ensayos de determinaci\u00f3n de m\u00f3dulos caracter\u00edsticos, 53 ensayos de \u00edndice de carga puntual y 28 determinaciones de durabilidad. Esta primera fase se completa con la caracterizaci\u00f3n de los macizos rocosos a partir de los criterios  de rotura de mohr-coulomb y de hoek-brown. Todo este volumen de informaci\u00f3n recopilada ha permitido el establecimiento de relaciones emp\u00edricas entre los distintos par\u00e1metros geomec\u00e1nicos.     paralelamente se ha realizado un ensayo de campo donde a un macizo rocoso flyschoide se le ha aplicado un incremento progresivo de esfuerzos de carga y se han controlado las deformaciones producidas en su interior; esto ha permitido caracterizar el comportamiento geomec\u00e1nico del macizo.     a partir del an\u00e1lisis de la informaci\u00f3n se ha desarrollado un nuevo sistema de clasificaci\u00f3n de macizos rocosos de regiones alpinas.     por \u00faltimo, se ha desarrollado un sistema de evaluaci\u00f3n del riesgo por desprendimientos en taludes rocosos, para su aplicaci\u00f3n en regiones
