Este proceso se realiza dividiendo el \u00e1rea de estudio en segmentos (tramos de r\u00edo con un r\u00e9gimen de caudales y unas caracter\u00edsticas geomorfol\u00f3gicas homog\u00e9neas) que son analizados empleando dos estrategias b\u00e1sicas: el tramo representativo y la elecci\u00f3n de mesoh\u00e1bitats. Dentro de cada una existen distintas opciones para seleccionar los lugares de muestreo, su longitud y la forma de extrapolar la cantidad de h\u00e1bitat.  dependiendo del procedimiento utilizado y de la intensidad de muestreo, el modelo del h\u00e1bitat proporciona resultados diferentes, lo que puede conllevar la elecci\u00f3n de alternativas de gesti\u00f3n del caudal err\u00f3neas.  esta tesis eval\u00faa diferentes t\u00e9cnicas de muestreo, dentro de ambos m\u00e9todos (tramos representativos y mesohabitats) comparando el h\u00e1bitat real total en un segmento fluvial de 810 m de longitud y 10 m de anchura de bankfull, con el h\u00e1bitat obteniendo en cada tipo de muestreo. El h\u00e1bitat se ha cuantificado utilizando variables f\u00edsicas (n\u00famero de froude, cociente entre la velocidad y la profundidad y sustrato del lecho) y biol\u00f3gicas (volumen potencial
