El abandono posterior de actividades hizo que en 1996 se desconociese la epidemiolog\u00eda de la tripomosonosis en quin\u00ed\u00a7oma.  con el objetivo de conocer la situaci\u00f3n actual de la enfermedad n quin\u00ed\u00a7oma se realizaron encuestas seroparasitol\u00f3gicas de diagn\u00f3stico entre los a\u00f1os 1997-199. Se examinaron un total de 15.847 personas en 31 poblados y se determin\u00f3 la zona end\u00e9mica  correspondiente a 18 poblados donde 5.042 personas estaban a riesgo de adquirir la
