Uno de los modelos m\u00e1s complejos -y completos- de plegamiento es el proceso que conlleva a la formaci\u00f3n del heterod\u00edmero de tubulina, la subunidad de los microt\u00fabulos.  los microt\u00fabulos son pol\u00edmeros de tubulina, ubicuos, involucrados en funciones variadas todas ellas fundamentales en la c\u00e9lula, desde la mitosis (y meiosis), al transporte citopl\u00e1smico y mantenimiento de la arquitectura celular. la subunidad funcional y estructural de los microt\u00fabulos es el heterod\u00edmero de alfa-beta-tubulina que, unidos entre si de forma linear constituyen los protofilamentos, trece de los cuales asociados en c\u00edrculo forman un microt\u00fabulo. Los microt\u00fabulos son estructuras del citosqueleto tremendamente din\u00e1micas, y precisamente de la capacidad din\u00e1mica de \u00e9stos en cda c\u00e9lula (tejido) depender\u00e1n su\/sus funciones concretas.  la s\u00edntesis de novo de los heterod\u00edmeros a partir de los polip\u00e9ptidos de alfa- y beta-tubulina es un proceso complejo el cual comienza con la interacci\u00f3n de los polip\u00e9ptidos reci\u00e9n sintetizados con cct y prefoldina. Una vez liberados los polipeptidos de la chaperonina son procesados por los cofactores de la tubulina: tbca, tbcb, tbcc, tbcd, tbce y arl2. Tras la asociaci\u00f3n de las tubulinas con \u00e9stos formando diferentes complejos, finalmente, tras la hidr\u00f3lisis del gtp, se libera el hterod\u00edmero de alfa-beta-tubulina competente para la polimerizaci\u00f3n en los microt\u00fabulos. Hasta la fecha la funci\u00f3n de estos factores in vivo no se conoce, si bien se sabe que estas proetinas son necesarias para la vida y que mutaciones en sus genes produce s\u00edndormes, algunos de ellos muy importantes.
