La bacteria rhodococcus erythropolis upv-1 es capaz de crecer en medios minerales empleando fenol como \u00fanica fuente de carbono y energ\u00eda, eliminando a su vez, el formaldeh\u00eddo presente en el medio de cultivo. En este trabajo se ha evaluado la capaciedad degradadora de fenol y formaldeh\u00eddo de r.Erythropolis upv-1 en aguas residuales reales. Aunque estaba descrita la v\u00eda metab\u00f3lica que emplea r.Erythropolis upv-1 para degradar fenol, se desconoc\u00eda el mecanismo de eliminaci\u00f3n de formaldeh\u00eddo. Se ha identificado a una aldeh\u00eddo deshidrogenasa (aldeh\u00eddo: nad+ oxidorreductasas, ec 1.2.1.3) como el enzima implicado en la eliminaci\u00f3n del formaldeh\u00eddo, tanto en medios minerales como en aguas residuales reales. Se ha purificado el enzima a homogeneidad electrofor\u00e9tica y se han caracterizados sus propiedades f\u00edsicas y catal\u00edticas m\u00e1s relevantes. Adem\u00e1s, se ha clonado y expresado en c\u00e9lulas de e.Coli m15 el gen aldh que codifica para este enzima.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis doctoral
