Recientemente, diversos autores han detectado la presencia de metabolitos espec\u00edficos del tabaco en la orina de reci\u00e9n nacidos y en l\u00edquido amniotico de gestantes fumadoras, lo que sugiere un posible efecto genot\u00f3xico en etapas tempranas del desarrollo embrionario. Actualmente los datos encaminados a detectar el posible efecto transplacental del tabaco durante la gestaci\u00f3n son controvertidos. Existen \u00fanicamente dos estudios indirectos que utilizan vellosidades coriales.  los objetivos de este trabajo han sido:  1) puesta a punto de la t\u00e9cnica uniforme-bandas g  a partir de extensiones de amniocitos obtenidas previamente con fines diagn\u00f3sticos.  2) an\u00e1lisis de la inestabilidad cromos\u00f3mica y de anomal\u00edas cromos\u00f3micas en c\u00e9lulas del l\u00edquido amni\u00f3tico  3) an\u00e1lisis de los puntos de rotura implicados en las lesiones y anomal\u00edas cromos\u00f3micas  en este estudio prospectivo  se han analizado un total de 50 muestras distintas de l\u00edquido amni\u00f3tico procedentes de mujeres subdivididas en dos grupos 25 gestantes fumadoras de  10-20 cigarrillos al d\u00eda al menos durante 10 a\u00f1os y que continuaban fumando durante el embarazo y 25 gestantes no fumadoras y no expuestas ahumo de cigarrillos ni en su hogar ni en el lugar de trabajo (no fumadoras pasivas). Para ello se requirieron 800 encuestas. La inestabilidad cromos\u00f3mica se analiz\u00f3  con tinci\u00f3n uniforme-bandas g.  la comparaci\u00f3n de los datos citogen\u00e9ticos entre gestantes fumadoras y no fumadoras mostr\u00f3 importantes diferencias entre la proporci\u00f3n de anomal\u00edas cromos\u00f3micas estructurales (p=0.002) y en menor grado en la proporci\u00f3n de metafases con inestabilidad cromos\u00f3mica; (p=0.04),y la proporci\u00f3n de lesiones cromos\u00f3micas (p=0.045) el an\u00e1lisis estad\u00edstico de los 689 puntos de rotura mo<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
