El objetivo del presente estudio ha sido examinar si la administraci\u00f3n prolongada de dosis de potencia abusivo de ghb tienen un efecto neurot\u00f3xico en ratas.  partiendo de esta hip\u00f3tesis, el objetivo principal se centra en la evaluaci\u00f3n del posible efecto neurot\u00f3xico de la administraci\u00f3n subcr\u00f3nica de una dosis baja y otra intermedia de ghb (10mg\/kg y 100 mg\/kg) en ratas macho. Para ello se han realizado dos evaluaciones de tipo conductual, cuyos par\u00e1metros examinados act\u00faan como variables dependientes de un posible deterioro a nivel conductal que podr\u00eda ser la consecuencia de un posible da\u00f1o neurot\u00f3xico tras la administraci\u00f3n prolongada de ghb, as\u00ed como un an\u00e1lisis histol\u00f3gico, para comprobar la posible perdida neuronal como resultado de dicha administraci\u00f3n, y los posibles mecanismos subyacentes. Los resultaos obtenidos muestran un deterioro del reflejo de \u00abgrasping\u00bb y un deterioro de la memoria de trabajo espacial, lo que podr\u00eda ser indicativo de un da\u00f1o a nivel de la corteza prefontral y del \u00e1rea ca1 del hipocampo. Por otro lado, el estudio histol\u00f3gico revel\u00f3 una p\u00e9rdida neuronal en ambas regiones, as\u00ed como un incremento de la actividad transcripcional tras la administraci\u00f3n prolongada de ghb. Por consiguiente, podr\u00edamos concluir que los resultados aportados por el presente trabajo muestran que la administraci\u00f3n subcr\u00f3nica de dosis baja de ghb deriva en la aparici\u00f3n de
