Este complejo se une, a su vez, al aon en los genes diana, en zonas espec\u00edficas llamadas elementos de respuesta hormonal. Las principales acciones de la vitamina d son la regulaci\u00f3n del metabolismo mineral (f\u00f3sforo y calcio), adem\u00e1s de estar implicada en la modulaci\u00f3n de la respuesta inmune, crecimiento y diferenciaci\u00f3n celular o la secreci\u00f3n de hormonas.  la hormona de crcimiento (gh) es una hormona sintetizada y almacenada principalmente en las c\u00e9lulas somatotropas de la adenohip\u00f3fisis, que interviene en la regulaci\u00f3n del metabolismo intermediario, siendo esencial para el crecimiento y el desarrollo. El factor de transcripci\u00f3n hipofisario-1 (pit-1) ejerce un papel cr\u00edtico en la diferenciaci\u00f3n celular durante la organog\u00e9nesis de la hip\u00f3fisis anterior de mamiferos, as\u00ed como en la activaci\u00f3n transcripcional de genes hipofisarios, fundamentalmente gh o prolactina (prl). Tanto gh como su regulador transcripcional pit-1, fueron identificados inicialmente como exclusivos de hip\u00f3fisis, aunque posteriores estudios han demostrado su expresi\u00f3n en otros tejidos y l\u00edneas celulares,  como por ejemplo en mama humana. En este tejido existe tambi\u00e9n expresi\u00f3n de vor.  dado que ha sido demostrado que receptores nucleares de la familia de vdr, como el receptor de hormonas tiro ideas o el receptor del \u00e1cido retinoico, regulan a nivel transcripc\u00edonal a gh y pit-1 h\u00edpofisarias, el objetivo del presente trabajo ha sido estudiar si la 1,25(oh)2 03 a trav\u00e9s de vdr interviene en la regulaci\u00f3n extrahipofisaria de gh y pit-1.  nuestros datos indican que, en la l\u00ednea celular de adenocarcinoma de mama humana, mcf-7, 1,25(oh)2d3 inhibe significativamente tanto a gh como a pit-1.
