Los tres materiales han sido crecidos mediante la t\u00e9cnica mocvd (\u00abmetal organic chemical vapor deposition\u00bb) usando una nueva configuraci\u00f3n del reactor; en ella los precursores met\u00e1licos son introducidos por una entrada superior mientras que los alcoholes, que han sido utilizados como precursores de ox\u00edgeno, lo hacen por una entrada inferior. Esto ha permitido reducir las reacciones qu\u00edmicas en fase gaseosa entre los precursores, lo que siempre ha supuesto un problema en este tipo de crecimiento.  el estudio del zno se ha centrado en el crecimiento de orientaciones no polares, es decir, orientaciones en las que el eje [0001] est\u00e1 contenido en la superficie de la muestra, y que son necesarias para la obtenci\u00f3n de dispositivos optoelectr\u00f3nicos con una mayor eficiencia. Las orientaciones no polares han sido caracterizadas mediante sfm, analizando el inicio del proceso de crecimiento (nucleaci\u00f3n y formaci\u00f3n de los primeros granos) y mediante hrxrd, lo que ha permitido determinar los mecanismos que limitan la calidad estructural de estas orientaciones. Finalmente, el uso de una t\u00e9cnica novedosa, kelvin probe microscopy, ha revelado la presencia de dominios de carga sobre la superficie de muestras no polares faceteadas.  el estudio del cdo ha tenido como objetivo fundamental el obtener capas delgadas con una \u00fanica orientaci\u00f3n cristalogr\u00e1fica, sobre sustratos de zafiro, abriendo las puertas a una compatibilidad tecnol\u00f3gica entre el zno y el cdo. Para obtener capas delgadas de alta calidad estructural se ha recurrido al empleo de sustratos de zafiro \u00abr\u00bb y \u00abm\u00bb, ya que los sustratos \u00aba\u00bb induc\u00edan la aparici\u00f3n de maclas en las capas. Sobre zafiro \u00abr\u00bb, la optimizaci\u00f3n de las condiciones de crecimiento ha conducido a la obtenci\u00f3n de superficies planas, al tiempo que se mejoraba la calidad estructural,
