Realizamos t\u00e9cnicas inmunohistoqu\u00edmicas utilizando anti-gs y la coexpresi\u00f3n con anti-gfap como marcadores de c\u00e9lulas macrogliales y t\u00e9cnicas histoqu\u00edmicas utilizando la lectina de tomate (lycopersicon esculentum) como marcador de c\u00e9lulas microgliales. Hemos observado que la expresi\u00f3n de gs queda confinada en la retina a las c\u00e9lulas de muller como en el resto de vertebrados, confiriendo a dichas c\u00e9lulas un papel de protector neuronal y que la coexpresi\u00f3n con la gfap queda limitada a los pies de dichas c\u00e9lulas. Por otro lado, en el nervio, quiasma y tracto \u00f3ptico la expresi\u00f3n es maxima en el individuo adulto, dicha expresi\u00f3n puede ser necesaria para mantener los niveles de glutamato en condiciones no t\u00f3xicas para los oligodendrocitos del nervio tal y como ha sido descrito en mam\u00edferos.  adem\u00e1s, hemos observado tres subpoblaciones celulares distintas localizadas en distintas regiones, lo que sugiere una gran heterogeneidad glial. En cuanto a la poblaci\u00f3n microglial existente durante la ontogenia, esta presenta distintas morfolog\u00edas, iguales a las observadas en el cerebro de esta misma especie y similares a las observadas en el snc de distintos vertebrados. por otro lado discutimos que las posibles v\u00edas de entrada de la microgl\u00eda a la retina y nervio \u00f3ptico son similares a las descritas en
