Este bacteri\u00f3fago presenta una elevada frequencia de transducci\u00f3n, capaz de infectar s. Enterica, serovar enteritidis y serovar typhimurium. Siguiendo esta linea de investigaci\u00f3n, el presente trabajo se ha planteado ampliar la descripci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica de este bacteri\u00f3fago y caracterizar las distintas funciones del fago se1 en estado de lisogenia, tales como la conversi\u00f3n lisog\u00e9nica, la integraci\u00f3n y su regulador o interruptor gen\u00e9tico.  la sequenciaci\u00f3n del genoma del bacteri\u00f3fago se1, a partir de una genoteca f\u00e1gica y por walking directamente sobre el genoma, ha permitido determinar que tiene una longitud de 41.941 pb, que se concreta en 67 orf. La comparaci\u00f3n con la base de datos del genbank ha revelado que este fago, como otros fagos lambdoides, es un mosaico gen\u00e9tico resultado de recombinaciones y transfer\u00e9ncias horizontales con otros bacteri\u00f3fagos.  la sequencia obtenida permiti\u00f3 mostrar que la deficiencia en el extremo carboxi terminal periplasm\u00e1tic de la prote\u00edna codificada por uno de los genes de conversi\u00f3n lisog\u00e9nica (gtrc) podr\u00eda ser la causa por la qual el bacteri\u00f3fago p22 ser\u00eda capaz de infectar una c\u00e9lula lis\u00f3gena por el bacteri\u00f3fago se1.  adem\u00e1s, en el presente trabajo se han determinado las sequencias de los operadores de la regi\u00f3n reguladora que interaccionan con la prote\u00edna ci del interruptor o regulador gen\u00e9tico. A trav\u00e9s de ensayos de retardo electrofor\u00e9tico (emsa) y de footprinting se ha definido la sequencia concenso de los motivos de uni\u00f3n de los operadores a la prote\u00edna ci siguiente: atan3ttn3tatt.  por otro lado, el an\u00e1lisi de la composici\u00f3n de la unidad transcripcional del gen ci por rt-pcr pirmiti\u00f3 determinar que el gen orf23 formaba parte de ella.
