Consiste en una evaluaci\u00f3n de la amenaza y de la vulnerabilidad s\u00edsmicas para toda la ciudad y en un estudio m\u00e1s detallado de la vulnerabilidad de viviendas de autoconstrucci\u00f3n en el barrio de \u00abla milagrosa\u00bb.  se describe la ciudad de m\u00e9rida y su evoluci\u00f3n durante sus m\u00e1s de 400 a\u00f1os de historia. Se lleva a cabo una evaluaci\u00f3n de su peligrosidad s\u00edsmica. el marco tect\u00f3nico as\u00ed como las zonas sismogen\u00e9ticas se toman de otros estudios. Se efect\u00faa un an\u00e1lisis probabil\u00edstico no zonificado, obteniendo los per\u00edodos de retorno y las probabilidades anuales de excedencia de terremotos de grado i = vi a i = ix seg\u00fan la escala macros\u00edsmica europea. Las aceleraciones m\u00e1ximas horizontales para estos eventos se estiman mediante una ley de atenuaci\u00f3n deducida especialmente para el oeste de venezuela. Estas aceleraciones se utilizan para efectuar una serie representativa de an\u00e1lisis de la respuesta (en la meseta). Los per\u00edodos m\u00e1ximos obtenidos as\u00ed como los correspondientes factores de amplificaci\u00f3n se utilizan para realizar una microzonificaci\u00f3n de dicha meseta. Los efectos inducidos (licuefacci\u00f3n y deslizamientos) se estiman mediante la metodolog\u00eda de estimaci\u00f3n de p\u00e9rdidas s\u00edsmicas hazus(r).  se utilizan dos metodolog\u00edas de evaluaci\u00f3n de la vulnerabilidad: ivim y lm1.
