Se llega a establecer ciertas relaciones entre la estructura molecular, los equilibrios que deben tener lugar en disoluci\u00f3n y las estructuras cristalinas resultantes, que en algunos casos generan organizaciones porosas hidrof\u00edlicas o hidrofobias. En el an\u00e1lisis de las estructuras se ha empleado, adem\u00e1s de la cristalograf\u00eda de rayos-x, t\u00e9cnicas de resonancia magn\u00e9tica nuclear de s\u00f3lidos y t\u00e9cnicas calorim\u00e9tricas. por \u00faltimo se ha desarrollado una ruta sint\u00e9tica para obtener nuevos hidroxi-\u00e1cidos de inter\u00e9s para posteriores estudios
