Se ha estudiado en este trabajo la aorta a nivel toracico de 24 especies de animales con objeto de realizar un estudio comparativo de las mismas a la vez de poderlas evaluar desde el punto de vista estructural para una hipotetica utilizacion de las mismas para trasplantes. Se han estudiado aortas de raton, gerbo, hanster, rata, cobaya, chinchilla, liebre patagona, conejo, gato, perro, pecari, cerdo, oveja, panda menor, hiena manchada, pantera de las nieves, guepardo, tigre, corzo, sitatunga, rhesus, sileno, cercopiteco verde, papion negro y chimpance. La conclusion es que todas las aortas han presentado una misma base estructural, pero sin embargo algunas se han mostrado muy diferenciadas a la del hombre como son las del grupo de los artiodactilos y sin embargo otras mas parecidas como son las del grupo de los carnivoros y el de los primates. Es posible que con el desarrollo de la genetica y la preservacion con el frio podamos contemplar en un fururo sustituciones de los vasos sanguineos del hombre por otros de animales siempre y y cuando
